Safe Environment Policy

Children are our most precious resource, our posterity, and promise. In a special way, the parishes, communities, and clergy of the Ordinariate understand and manifest this reality. All recognize their responsibilities to assure that children, young people, and adults at risk are safe from sexual misconduct and exploitation whenever they participate in activities that occur in Ordinariate communities and institutions. We are committed to the protection of children and young people and to care for victims of physical and sexual abuse. It is the policy of the Ordinariate to respond promptly and with compassion to all reports of abuse.

From the founding of the Sodality of St. Thomas More in 2012 up until the present day, all staff and volunteers working with or likely to have contact with vulnerable persons have undergone training and full Vulnerable Sector Checks (comprehensive police background checks). We have always maintained full compliance with all Ordinariate policies and procedures, and this remains a priority for any work we do that my involved vulnerable persons.
